STOCKLAND Wendouree cleaners could be on stike during the biggest season of the year for the shopping centre.

Cleaners across the state are set to strike within weeks, after workers’ union United Voice voted overwhelmingly for action to be taken at several shopping centres in Victoria.

Hundreds of United Voice members recently participated in an Australian Electoral Commission postal ballot on the issue, with the results announced on Tuesday night.

More than 94 per cent of members voted to proceed with strike action at 11 shopping centres operated by Spotless, Australia’s largest cleaning service contractor.
